Black Nails and Copper Hair.

I went to shopping today with my sister and her boyfriend and managed to come home with more than I should've. At least I got Orly Matte Vinyl nail lacquer which is gorgeous! I also bought 3 Depend nail polishes and used glittery black on my ring fingers. So my nails this evening look like this:

I am trying to grow my gel nails out still so had to file them really short since some of the nails have left and are really brittle thanks to month of being hidden under gel.
There's a bump on my ring finger polish, don't know where that came from but noticed only after taking the pics.

These are all the polishes I bought today.

And I went from red to light copper with my hair. Really like the new colour, it's more me and suits my skin tone well (thanks to freckles). Hard to get picture of the dye, every camera makes it look either too red or too yellow. The webcam pic is closest than the one taken with camera. But neither is correct. So here are both of the pics:

Going Nude - With Make Up

I was really tired this morning and felt weird after waking up few times a night feeling dizzy. So didn't want to spend too much time thinking of what kind of make up I want to put on today. So thought I could go for quite nude make up for a change. And I even used lipstick, which is really rare to me, I prefer lipgloss or just lip balm.

Face:
Smashbox Photo Finish primer
Gosh X-ceptional wear foundation - Porcelain
Gosh loose powder - translucent
Gosh Touch Up
Urban Decay Baked Bronzer - Gilded

Eyes:

Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow - chopper and polyester bride

Lips:
Oriflame Vivid lipstick - Golden bronze

Dior Haute Couture S/S 2010 inspired LOTD.

I looked yesterday pics from Paris Haute Couture shows and noticed that Dior had quite wearable make up if you toned it down a bit (for work use). So thought I could try it for today's look.

And this is the inspire look. Dior used at least both green and blue that I saw but I prefer green with red lips and my red hair. The pic is from backstage.

Boots Expert Anti-Blemish cleansing foam and toner.

I've suffered from quite bad acne when I was a teenager and I ate Roaccuttan to get rid of it. Took 1 year but my face (and back) eventually started to look ok. I still get breakouts every now and then especially according to my menstrual cycle.

I've tried a lot of different anti-blemish products but lately I've settled with Boots Expert Anti-Blemish cleansing foam and toner. I use other facial cleaning products too but these are the only ones meant for blemish control.

The cleansing foam is great, I love the texture since it's pure light foam. The smell is sort of cucumber-y and smells like a scented soap but not too disturbing. It cleanses my face of make up and oil without leaving it too dry. I do get the tighter feeling on my skin than from moisturising products but then again they make my breakouts worse. Even when it's close to -20 outside the foam doesn't make my face feel dry. No redness either. I usually use 1-2 pumps since I use a lot of time washing my face and less would disappear in a second.

I was sort of shocked when I used the toner first time since the colour is amber instead of blueish or clear that I've used toners to be. Doesn't smell of anything and will take out all the left over oil and make up without drying my face either. The toner comes in a bottle that has quite big hole so a lot of toner comes out at once if you're not aware of it. Doesn't irritate my skin or no fumes that would irritate my eyes.

Both are so cheap that if you need anti-blemish cleansing products then you could try these and even if they don't suit you losing less than £10 doesn't hurt much.

Stila Jade Blossom EdP.

I got a sample of this perfume with my Smashbox Photo Finish primer and thought I could test it.

It's advertised in the sample with: "Delight the senses with he cool, clean notes of lemon verbena, cucumber, and exotic green tea". The first scent that I noticed was cucumber and after that it got quite sweet flowery. I'm no big fan of flowery smells, I prefer strong spicy ones. This was ok even if it reminded me of some floral fabric softener.

The scent doesn't stay long on your skin so have to apply it quite often during the day if you want it to stay from dusk til dawn. The smell isn't too strong or overwhelming so it's nice for summer or work-use even tho for evening it's probably a bit too light.

Black and White.

This is my yesterday's LOTD sine today I've been home ill (got reaction from H1N1 vaccination) so don't have any look for today.

But yesterday I thought of trying matte black and white look. Didn't want too dramatic to work so kept black amount quite low. This is what it looked like:

Make up used:
Isadora's matte white
Urban Decay's matte black
Gosh Eye Liner Pen - black
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express 100% black mascara

Pool Cocktail.

I bought Isadora's Eye Shadow Quartet - Pool Cocktail yesterday so thought I could do today's look with it. So this is what I came up with.

I used yellow for the inside of the lids, green to the middle of upper lid, purple to crease and outer part of the lids and turquoise above the crease. UD's Polyester Bride was used for highlight.

I had to use waterproof mascara since it's snowing outside, well more like falling snow. It's coming so slowly that I probably could even dodge the flakes. I also noticed the Avon's foundation is way too dark for me to wear in winter even if it's lightest they had. So need to start to use Gosh one and hopefully use the rest of Avon at summer before it gets old.

Pink Nails.

I decided to try the Depend nailpolish today already. I am trying to grow out my gel nails since I just cba to take care of them anymore. Maintainance is too much work for me since the place I get these done isn't that close to my workplace and I prefer quite short nails and these grow out so fast.

Anyway, this is the Depend on my nails.

I quite like it. It isn't too pink for me but I bet still people at work will comment. I'm known to wear only black except lately I've started to use colourful nail polishes and more colourful make up yet I still wear only mostly black.

And these are the jewelleries I bought today: 4 earrings and 1 necklace with only 13€ alltogether.

Earrings are all stud ones. Top on has both black and white "pearl" in it, then there's red ones, black ones and small green ones. And the necklace is fake pearl one with rhinestones.

Colourful.

Title describes both my today's LOTD and purchases I made today.

First the LOTD: I thought I could try something bright and unusual for me so I went with green and blue. Came up with this:

And with that look I went to my sister's workplace so we could go to shop together. We ended up in Kicks before we went to eat. I got my late Christmas gift from my sister which is fantastic: Escada's Incredible Me 50ml EdP, 50ml Luxurious Shower Gel and 50ml Precious Body Moisturizer gift set. Original price 62,90€ but it was -50% and ended up costing 30€ (when only the EdP costs 50€). So I'm very happy!

And I also found IsaDora's Eye Shadow Quartet in colour 55 Pool Cocktail for only 2,50€. I need nail polishes so I ended up with Depend's No 167 (strong pink) and Beyu's 289 (really light green with a hint of gold).

I also bought some earrings and one necklace but I will put pics of them tomorrow when I just dig them out of my bag first.

After An Exhausting Day.

I had quite an exhausting day at work today so after I finally got out I went to do some shopping. I needed a new foundation since I'm soon running out of older ones and I can't wear Joe Blasco daily since it's too thick. So I ended up in a beauty store and headed to Gosh products.

And walked out the shop with these:

Gosh Foundation Brush
Gosh X-ceptional Wear Make-Up - 11 Porcelain
Gosh Extreme Art Eye Liner: Waterproof - reddish brown (doesn't have name)
Gosh "Touch Up" Concealer - 1

I thought I could do a make up using only Gosh (except as a blush since I don't have Gosh blush so I used Urban Decay bronzer instead). Used the new buys and not much more.

Other products used:
Gosh Loose Powder - Translucent
Gosh Eye Catching 2 Step Mascara
Urban Decay Baked Bronzer - Gilded

And now I think I head to shower. After a day like this I wish I would have a bath.

Metallic Green and Recent Buys

I have to introduce you to one of my favourite nail polishes. I don't like green in general - as I've told before - but since this nail polish is more metallic than green I really adore it. And it is of course Gosh's Nail Lacquer - Metallic Green.

The colour is really light green with metallic look to it. One thing I hate is that it doesnt' forgive any mistakes; all the small cuts and bumps show on the colour.
I should go get my nails done, been totally overgrown.

And then to my recent buys...

I received the brushes I ordered from Ebay way over a month ago. It shows it's a MAC case with MAC brushes but I think they're fake. Didn't buy them for the name, they were the cheapest set I could get at the time mailed to me.

Haven't tried them yet for make up but they feel really soft and nice.

Another thing I had ordered from Ebay was Tigi's Oatmeal & Honey shampoo and conditioner and got them from post office today. The smell is ok, quite sweet but we'll see what happens when I put them on to my hair. Really hope they will give my hair the moisture they need since Disp Core Moisturiser shampoo and conditioner didn't deliver the way I expected them to.

I also ordered Tigi's ego boost split-end treatment and hope it will arrive soon. My split-ends need help - maybe from scissors first.

I finally found Nuxe's Aroma-Perfection Anti-Shine Fluid from a shop and bought it immediately. I will try it later on today just to see what it feels like the first time and hopefully can start to see less shiney face soon.

I also went to shops today to see clothes - which I shouldn't really do since I always manage to find something. I found a cute dress for work with only 12€. I really like the neckline and that flower kinda thingy is detachable.

And then I found a bag - since women never have enough bags. It was only 10€ so wasn't too bad. It's really soft velvety type of fabric with shiney faux leather straps sewn to sides and to handles.

And then I needed some jewellery: necklace and earrings. Luckily for me matching earrings came with the necklace so I ended up buying another pair of earrings for gig/club wear.

Maybe I stay away from shops for a while - after I've bought a foundation which I really need soon when old ones are running out.

My Top 5 Beauty Products of 2009.

Since my battery died and is now recharcing I thought I could make a list of products I fell in love with last year.

Hair
Schwartzkopf BC Bonacure Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner
I don't like leave-in conditioners since they leave my hair too flat but this spray actually makes my hair look more alive. My hair look well-maintained (which they aren't, really) and shiney. About £12.

Face
Dermosil Cleansing Mousse E
This is something I don't think I will change to anything else for a while. It takes off all the make up easily, leaves my skin smooth and hydrated. 6,20€.

Mascara
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara 100% Black
Pretty much the only mascara I've used for past few years. I've tried and own others but on daily basis this is the only one I use. Makes my few and short eyelashes look full and long. £4.99 (Boots).

Lips
Bepanthen
A product that you can use on pretty much anything but nothing can beat it for making my winter lips smooth and moistured. I've used it mainly this winter and my lips look healthy even in -20 degrees. 5,55€ from pharmacies.

Body
RFSU's Private Area products
These are by far the best products for intim hygiene and shaving. I love Easy Shavin' Intim Shave Gel and after that there are two different lovely moisturisers you can use on bikini lines to prevent irritation and red marks. Won't try any other shaving gel for bikini lines again. 5,50€.

Back with photos tomorrow.

Golden Globes 2010 - my top 3 dresses.

It was time for another red carpet event and this time it was Golden Globes Awards 2010.

Most had really boring dresses, nothing interesting in them and some could be classified as ugly. But since we all have our own taste I bet one of the dresses is ugly to most people. And I will start with that...

3. Yes, it's Cher! I would never wear the dress but it suits her and her style. I love lace-up everything!

2. Halle Berry's black KaufmanFranco gown was gorgeous and I wish I could have a figure like hers to wear something like that.

1. My number one wasn't black! It's Christina Aguilera's stunning peachy Versace's chiffon dress. It has the it-factor in it with the silvery corset and still doesn't look tacky.
