Beauty From The Earth Cosmetics review and swatches

Beauty From The Eart or BFTE for short.

Like I told few posts back I got a package from BFTE - I ordered a Limited Blogger Set in matte (all sold out so sorry if you missed it). Which meant I got 3 matte colours in jars and 3 sample bags of other colours.

To my luck I got matte colours that I really like: 2 browns and a pink. Well pink isn't really my colour-of-choice but I'm really glad I got the browns since I probably will never have enough matte browns. Like you might've noticed I've use quite a lot of matte colours lately.

These are swatches of the matte colours:

(L-R: Not That Innocent, Aruba and Truffle)

Above picture is taken in daylight and lower with flash so that's why it looks a bit washed out. If you see sparkles it's not the colours - it's the primer (Malu Wilz).

Not That Innocent: (BFTE site has no description for it and it looks more lilac in the pictures) but I think it's quite light pink with possibly a slight lilac-y undertone
Aruba: (BFTE site says only matte but) I see it as light brown with a bit of a peachy undertone
Truffle: (From BFTE site:)  A golden medium matte brown. Whether you prefer the chocolate or mushroom variety, this truffle is calorie free, so feel free to indulge!

I love how smoothly the matte ones apply! If you haven't noticed I've used all of them in looks already which you can find here and here. I will definitely need more of these. BFTE has a lot of matte shades so I will have more likely problems narrowing them down than finding colours I want.

The three random samples I got were:

(L-R: Bubbly, Paradise and Stunning)

Today's look was done with Bubbly and Paradise (Stunning I haven't used yet). Bubbly and Paradise both have nice sheen to them. It's not really shimmery or glittery but smooth sheen. Stunning seems to have less sheen and I tried to take picture where you can see it but camera didn't want to capture it. It's not matte but the sheen/shimmer isn't as prominent as in two other colours.

Bubbly: (BFTE site has no description) I see it as champagne colour (like you might get from the name)
Paradise: (BFTE site has no description but says it's not safe to use on lips due to ultramarines) I think it's sky-blue with nice sheen
Stunning: (BFTE site has no description) hard to described since I have only swatched it but I think it leans a bit more to berry-colour than actual pink/fuchsia, subtle sheen

Colour pay-off is amazing in these! I had no problem with Bubbly and Paradise which I used either, consistency of the colours seem fine. I might have to get bigger size of Bubbly since I love how it would add bit of pizzazz (I quite hate that word but couldn't come up with a better one) into neutral looks.

Will I buy again from Beauty From The Earth? Definitely, like I said already! It says on the site that BFTE have over 350 multi-use minerals and a really good variety of matte colours which is what I'm more interested in atm. I think I need matte greys next...

LOTD ~ Champagne in Paradise

This look is done mainly with Beauty From The Earth eyeshadows. Review will be up later today with swatches.

This look is done with Bubbly (lid), Paradise (lower lashline), Truffle (crease) and Aruba (crease blending) plus with matte white and gel liner from Inglot.

Let's see how long my face looks this fresh since I need to face the -10C outside. I hate how in winter the breath crystallises to ice and then melts when it touches your skin which means it will melt off the makeup too. Damn winter! And it should get colder this south too in becoming week.

LOTD ~ Do The Blix Re-Mix

This week's challenge in the NTMS FB group was to recreate a look by beautiful Blix from Glitter is my crack... I think it's a great challenge and since I have totally different eyeshape to her (and rest of the face, naturally) it would be fun to see how her looks work on me. And I quite like the result!

I recreated her Chartreuse and Green Makeup Look with Fyrinnae and I happened to have some of the same eyeshadows and I like green so... Yeah, here you go!

Blix had dark lips but I honestly ran out of time (I had to catch a bus to get to a doctor, yeah on Saturday) so I left my lips bare.

But here's what I used for eyes:
UDPP / MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk (inner corner)
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (all over the eye)
Too Faced Smokey Eyes palette (black for outer V)
Fyrinnae Dressed To Kill (outer half of the lid)
Fyrinnae OMFWTF (middle of the lid)
Inglot matte white e/s (inner corner of the lid)
Stargazer Eye Dust #13 (browbone and blending)
Inglot gel liner in #77

Hope you're having a great weekend! My Saturday wasn't as nice as I expected since my body didn't like the muscle relaxant I had to take in the morning (neck giving me a headache and pain) so I was feeling a bit sick and drowsy whole day.

LOTD ~ Truffles in Aruba

Today I wanted to do easy brown smoldering look with BFTE Truffle and Aruba. This is how it ended up:

I really like both colours, will definitely be using them in the future. Never enough matte browns! BFTE review still coming up this weekend.

Thank something it's Friday, this day just didn't end nicely. I got a call from Mina's after-school care that they can't find Mina's other shoe. They looked everywhere and even I went there to help them look and nothing. It's nowhere to be found. I'm so angry (luckily she has other winter boots) and I really hope whoever did this gets it back threefold. Goddess kids can be idiots!

Hopefully weekend is more relaxing.

LOTD ~ Innocent, yet Dangerous

Today's look was done with two new products. Other one is e/s from BFTE called Not That Innocent (matte pink) and other one is OCC Lip Tar in Dangerous (grey).

Dangerous isn't as durable on lips as Demure was and I think it is mainly meant for mixing it with other colours.

I'm going to do a review of BFTE eyeshadows this weekend when I have time to swatch the ones I got in daylight. Probably have enough time on Sunday since Saturday I'm most of the day off.

And luckily again tomorrow is Friday!

LOTD ~ STFU and be Demure

I'm getting bad at naming things. But anyway today I wanted to try the other OCC lip tar I got in mail yesterday (bought Demure and Dangerous, used). Today I wanted to use Demure since I thought of doing brown eye makeup and grey lips would've probably looked too funny.

And STFU is the eyeshadow on my lids - from Fyrinnae of course.

And to let you know - the lip tar stayed on whole day even if I drank and ate at work. Well I drank energy drink and water, nothing more exciting.

After work I went to post office to mail something and also retrieve my order which had Alchemy Gothic Dragons calendar for 2012. Yay!

Also went to pharmacy afterwards to get meds and then something for my annoying skin and scalp. Why can't I have a nice well-behaving skin?

The cosmetics bag was extra for buying 2 Neutrogena Visibly Clear products. Of course after shopping we went for burgers and now I'm stuffed. I will crawl to couch to watch Nanny (tv-series, I loved it the first time I saw it and I still do!).

LOTD ~ B&W Goth

This look is done for Never Too Much Sparkle! FB group's weekly challenge which this week was black and white makeup. Mine might be a bit predictable but I've done so many black and white looks that I couldn't come up with any better one.
So here you go!

Still not sure if I want to go out with this look so might change for something more subtle later. At least lips are going. Maybe I could just wipe off the inner parts and wear rest. Too goth for me! :P

Be a Doll, Be My Valentine

This is a look I did for Mustaa Kajalia Valentine's day competition. You can also attend to it if you can read/write Finnish and live in EU. At least in rules it's not said you can't post the look on your on blog. Heidi can /slap me if I just missed it :P

Anyway it is Valentine's Day inspired look competition. I know pink is overused in Valentine and so are hearts. Of course I used both - and did a doll look with them.

So here you go:

My boyfriend thought I looked creepy. And he's the one blowing up Berlin (MW3).

LOTD ~ Winter Greens

Today I just wanted to do a normal me look which pretty much means black smoked out with some other colour. Today it happened to be green.

Black is UD Perversion and green plus highlight colours are from MAC WonderWoman collection palette in Valiant.

And when I walked home after taking my daughter to her grandmother's I faced pavements that weren't cleaned of snow. So trip home took longer than normally but at least it's good exercise to fight yourself forward in calf-deep snow.

This is taken today from living room. More snow on it's way!
