90 Day Challenge - Day 90

Last day!!! I made it. Can't believe I managed since I even left the 30 day music challenge after few days.

But anyway, here's the final look done with Tarte True Blood palette:

So after this there's few days' break at least unless I get REALLY bored.

But I have to tell you I already broke my 10 weeks no-buy - well I kinda needed it, but - I bought a cardigan to keep myself warm at Tuska. It's size M but luckily stretchy. It was the last piece and called Prison Cardigan by Vixxsin. Modeled here by beautiful Tanja from Rose Shock.

90 Day Challenge - Day 89

This is a look I wore on Wednesday to go and say hello to my daughter who's spending holiday at grandmother's.

Also did this under 10 mins (from fresh face).

On eyes I'm wearing MAC Technakohl in Graphblack and on cheeks NARS Orgasm.

Atm I'm at Tuska and really hoping it doesn't rain. And that the bands are good live. More updates next week about Tuska and possibly my makeup there. Tomorrow is the last day of this challenge and like I said before I might get more quiet for a while due to friends being here and me on a holiday (staying at home but might also not wear makeup).

90 Day Challenge - Day 88

Last three days start now. This was my Wednesday's look for work. Inspiration gotten from L'Oreal Miss Candy ad but ended up looking nothing like it.

Tick:Tock Cosmetics Cuckoo on top of UD Flipside.

When this goes live our Icelandic friends are in Finland already.

And I dyed my hair yesterday and it's horrible. It's brown and I can't stand brown hair on me. Well I've never had any since it's too boring colour for me (no offense to brunettes) but I just don't see myself as a brunette. The colour was supposed to be Golden Copper Blonde. Hell no it wasn't! Not sure if I get bleach and re-dye it. I think it's just the shock of it not being what it was supposed to be and I get used to it. Here's hoping!

90 Day Challenge - Day 87

This was a look I wore to work yesterday (Tuesday). Fast and concentrated on lips.

Lips are done with OCC Demure and topped with Evil Shades Lost Kiss. Lovely combo! And long-lasting thanks to OCC.

Tomorrow is the last work day before the holiday! Can't wait!

90 Day Challenge - Day 86 (with Tick:Tock Cosmetics)

Four days to go. And after that there actually might be a tiny break at least in daily posting due to me having a holiday and friends over for almost a week. Not going to spend too much time on computer until end of next week.

Anyway this is yet again another Tick:Tock look just because I received 50+ samples and I kinda want to try them all. At once if it was possible...

But neutral look this time.

I used Honeymoon, Late Night Burger Gnomes and Super Bowl Sunday XLVI. GNOMES! Umm... sorry about that. I still feel WoW withdrawal symptoms every now and then.

Black Rose Minerals Luciferi Collection - swatches & review

Finally I managed to swatch these! It's been forever but I never seemed to have time or bright enough daylight to swatch these but here you go.

 Picture taken here.

Since I've never bought from Black Rose Minerals before let's start from the beginning...

The company

Black Rose Minerals was founded by Rosa Hernandez in 2010. According to the website "some of the most significant sources are nature, art, literature, music, Roman, Greek and Egyptian mythology or the color wheel itself". Products are not repackaged and not tested on animals. If they're vegan or not, it's said in the product itself.

Order process

I ordered on May 13th and the package actually arrived before the end of May which is way within TAT and damn fast otherwise when ordering from USA to Finland.

Package arrived...

So this is what I unwrapped from the package.

Whole Luciferi collection and a tiny envelope with  few samples and a lot of stickers in it.

And what I love about indie makeup companies? This:

Personally written card. Not getting this from bigger companies. Really a nice touch and it reminds that you buy from a person rather than a huge company to whom your money doesn't really mean much in the end.

I didn't swatch the samples and since I haven't even opened them they might go to a giveaway/RAOK package.

The Luciferi collection

I think many of you might've guessed anyway I bought the Luciferi collection out of all the collections available. Collection named after Type O Negative and Marilyn Manson songs/albums etc (plus some more) definitely catches my eye. Even if it's summer and I'm staying in the lighter shades this was something I really needed in my life (yes, NEEDED).

I love the stickers for the collection, so cute!

I ordered the sample jars (1/4 teaspoon in 3g jars). I really hated myself for that when I opened. Even when sealed, 3g jars spill the product between lid and jar itself and since these are dark colours they do make a mess. That's general fault with 3g jars. Next time I know to buy ones with lids.

Here are what the beauties look like in jars.

Swatches and colour descriptions

And the collection swatched on my hand (first one in daylight and second with flash to bring out the glitter/shimmer).

Colour descriptions are taken from the site:

Nobodies - A deep, shimmery electric blue, this one is true to color wet or dry
Paradise Lost - This shade glistens like a deep pool of water, the black base representing the depth below
Tourniquet - A metallic gold in a black base and an ever so slight tint of a green highlight gives just a bit of a twist
Runes - A deep and dark forest green
Steele - This dark and glittery steel shade has a matte black base to deepen the tone
Scabbed Wings - This devilish little number starts with a black base, orange undertones show off a bronzy duotone. Finish that off with violet sparks for quite a shocking twist (should be swatched on sticky base, my base wasn't too sticky so the colours might be a bit off)
Coma Black - This darkly deep violet shimmers ever so slightly but smolders all the way
Bloody Kisses - This deep metallic red will set you on fire for sure

Where to buy?

There are few different ways to buy the full set of Luciferi collection:

Sample baggie is 1/8 teaspoon
Sample jar is 1/4 teaspoon in a 3 gram jar
Full jar without a sifter is approximately 3/4-1 teaspoon
Full jar with a sifter is approximately 1/2-3/4 teaspoon

Prices start from $6.40 and end to $40 depending on which one you take.

What do I think of them?

I really love the colours! I would like to think Paradise Lost is for the band instead of the book (since I couldn't read the book, way too hard English for me). I love collections that are named based on things I like (music, geeky things, tv shows) and I'm more likely to buy them than something I have no interest on. I think a lot of people are like that.
I love the colour payoff, they are also easy to work with (as easy as any dark shimmery loose shades).

Would I buy from them again?

Yes, I would. There are few other collections and random eyeshadows I'd like to try from Black Rose Minerals.

Where else to find the company?

Black Rose Minerals has a Facebook page and a blog.

90 Day Challenge - Day 85

This is a really simple look - just Fyrinnae Jaguar as a liner. I don't have pics of rest of the face since I took these after workday and I didn't have any lipstick on and blush had worn off mostly.

Last four days of work this week (well one behind when this goes live) before Tuska Open Air Metal Festival and one week holiday. Also only five more looks for this challenge!

Review - Mont Bleu Glass Nail File and Tweezers

I was contaced by Mont Bleu some weeks ago if I wanted to review few of their products. I had never heard of the company before so I did some googling and found out they made glass nail files and since I've been thinking about buying one anyway I thought this was a good opportunity to see if I really like them. As you may know I'm not a nail fanatic and my nails are mostly just painted with one colour. I file them if they break, pretty much.

I got asked if there were certain products/colour range which I wanted the products in and I just answered I'd prefer the nail file but I didn't have any preference whatsoever for colours and other products. I just told that they should send what they thought would fit their company image.

I received Luxury Nail File with Constellation design which is clear glass nail file with Swarowski crystals. I got one with purple, clear and pink stones. Size of the file is 135mm long and 2mm thick. It comes with suede pocket to store it in.

What do I think of the file? I really like the colour and first time I tried it on my daughter's paper thin nails. My daughter doesn't like her nails filed much and she did whine a bit but using the file seemed to do the trick faster than using the (I know, bad me) horrible paper files so she didn't need to suffer for long.

I have of course used this on me too and I really think it's more effective than nail files I've tried this far. It isn't too rough but still rough enough to get the work done. Too rough would just tear the nail. Definitely will stay in use and hopefully I can pick up a better routine with filing nails so they stay in better condition.

The other product I received was purple eyebrow tweezers with slant tip.

What do I think of the tweezers? These are exactly the kind of tweezers I use anyway. I like the slant tip and the fact that the end is quite thin so can easily grab tiniest hairs. I press tweezers so low that the crystals don't bother at all. They look nice and purple is one of my favourite colours. I haven't used really expensive or hyped tweezers so can't compare with those but these definitely get the work done and I don't find anything to complain about.

Where to buy?
Nail file can be bought here for 10 euros.
Tweezers can be bought here for 10,80 euros.

Would I suggest to buy these?
With my experience from nail files and tweezers I do suggest getting these. Price is certainly in line with the quality.

Where can I find the company?
You can follow the company on Facebook, Twitter and on their blog.

~Products sent to me for review purpose. All opinions are my own.~

90 Day Challenge - Day 84 (with Tick:Tock Cosmetics)

This is my third Tick:Tock Cosmetics look this month. I will see if I will do one more before the month's over.

Anyway for this look I used quite a lot of shadows as you might notice.

As base I used Infinity Eyeshadow Base in Milky Way and Black Hole
The One That Got Away (inner corner)
Once In a Blue Moon (next from yellow)
The Night Bus (after previous)
Back To The Future (outer corner)
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (crease)
Dusk 'Til Dawn (blended from crease up)
Honeymoon (highlight on browbone)
Frozen in Time (lower waterline and lashline)

Phew... a lot of shadows.

I didn't show you but this is the package I received when I ordered all samples of original shades plus Honeymoon lipgloss. Maybe I should nom nom the candies...

Today we are going (well went by the time this comes out) to Heureka with my daughter and boyfriend to see robotic dinosaurs (again!). Unfortunately our favourite restaurant is closed due to midsummer but maybe we'll find another place to eat.
